It is made from 18 gauge type 430 stainless steel with welded corners and is rated to hold 350 lbs when mounted into wall studs and evenly loaded - fix the brackets to studs, not to plasterboard alone, and hand-tighten the nuts onto the welded studs without overtightening. A raised 1 in. backsplash lip keeps items from sliding off behind the shelf, and the bullnose front edge is rounded and smooth. Type 430 is a magnetic grade of stainless, so a magnet will stick.
